CLASSICAL CONCERT AT VINIDEUS

THE ARIOSO STRING QUARTET
The Arioso String Quartet will be performing a program of works by Haydn, Prokofiev, and Mendelssohn. Founded by Oregon Ballet Theater principal violist, Shelley Matthewson, Arioso has been delighting Northwest audiences for two decades.
The quartet consists of Portland-area classical scene regulars. Its members have performed with OBT, Portland Opera, the Portland Chamber Orchestra, and the Oregon Symphony.
This performance will feature violinist, Michael Grossman. A New Jersey native, Michael began his performance career on the stages of the Northeast, playing chamber music at many venues, including Merkin Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the White House. After moving to Oregon, Michael served as Concertmaster of the Columbia Symphony, the Portland Chamber Orchestra, and the Oregon Mozart Players.
Arioso will be performing Haydn’s String Quartet in C major, opus 20, #2, two movements of Prokofiev’s String Quartet #1, and Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in E minor, opus 44, #2.
