WINE TASTING: TRAVEL THROUGH ITALIA

Trevisol Rosecco 2008 - 40% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, 20% Prosecco
550 CASES PRODUCED; From Paolo Trevisiol, maker of our ever-popular Prosecco, we proudly present his breathtaking sparkling rose', a light, effervescent delight that dances on the tongue with fresh berries, lively acidity, and gentle bubbles. Trevisiol's trademark minerals shine through, making this wine serious while being delightful. A fantastic value and gorgeous in the glass, it is a new seasonal staple brought to the US for the first time.

Marchetti Later Harvest Verdicchio 2008 - 100% Verdicchio
300 CASES PRODUCED; Maurizio Marchetti makes one of the finest Verdicchio Classico's we have ever laid our tastebuds on. So when he introduced us to his micro-production late harvest Verdicchio, we were immediately intrigued. Full-bodied and lush, this is not a sweet wine. It is off-dry, taking advantage of an extra month on the vine to develop greater body, structure, and fruit essence. It is deftly made, with lush fruits of pear and melon, and a touch honey complexion that retains beautiful acidity. A one of a kind wine from one of the great winemakers of Marche.

Marchetti Montepulciano 2006 - 100% Montepulciano
800 CASES PRODUCED; Famiglia Marchetti has been making wine in the Marche for over a century, and for at least 50 years, have produced one of the top Montepulciano (Rosso Conero) made anywhere. In our opinion, Montepulciano is Italy's greatest, most elegant expression of the grape. And few, if any, are making this wine better than Maurizio Marchetti. Known for his impeccable Verdicchio in the States, he is famous for his red Montepulcinao back home in Ancona. Laced with an intriguing smoky, cranberry spiciness and ripe plums, this is an everyday favorite for both sides of the Atlantic.

Poderi Elia Barbera d'Alba 2005 - 100% Barbera d'Alba
1300 CASES PRODUCED; From the village of Neive, comes Poderi Elia's classically styled Barbera d'Alba. Made with vines that are nearly 90 years old, the purity and confidence of the fruit are stunning. The freshly pressed cranberries on the nose are accentuated by lush, bright pomegranate. As always with the wines of Federico Stella, the tannins are very soft and integrated, always granular and unimposing: a blissful wine with poached Salmon.
The tasting will include light appetizers.
The $15 fee can be collected when you arrive. It's fine to arrive after 6:00 but probably no later than 7:00 to properly taste all the wines as the event ends at 8:00. Make a night of it and hang out with your friends while sipping your favorite new wines! Dinner and desserts are also available.
