KACY COLLEEN & GREG GOEBEL

After a 5 year stint studying and working in LA, Colleen returned to Portland and formed a voice/guitar duo called “Nouveau 2” and recorded Sojourn, a compilation of guitar/vocal duets. Eventually, Kacy dropped the name “Nouveau 2” and expanded the instrumentation of the group, often including flute or saxophone.
Kacy’s second recording, “You Were Meant For Me” is a collection of favorite tunes performed in an array of instrumentation, from duo to sextet.
In addition to recording and performing, Kacy Colleen created “Jazz Notes,” a special feature for local jazz station, KMHD. Colleen researched, recorded and produced a series of audio “portraits” of some of the greatest jazz artists.
Over the years her concerts have included a promotional tour of California, the Portland Mayor’s Ball, the Mt. Hood Festival of Jazz, North by Northwest, and performances at many of the Northwest’s best jazz venues. She has continued to build listener support with favorable press, radio airplay, her mailings and sales of the recordings.

Greg Goebel was born in Oregon and began playing and composing music from an early age. Upon graduation from the University of Oregon, where he studied with Gary Versace, Randy Porter and Steve Owen, the school said of his achievements, "Greg has personally done more to elevate the performance level of our jazz students than any other person, graduate or undergraduate, who has attended the UofO in at least the last fifteen years." While at the University of Oregon Greg recieved an award in Downbeat Magazine for Outstanding Original Composition.
Greg then moved to Portland, OR where he has quickly become one of the most in demand pianists in the area. His musical style, rich with subtle complexities and harmonic surprises make him a distinct voice among jazz pianists today.
Greg has recorded and toured with renowned bassist David Friesen and is a current member of the David Friesen Trio.
In addition to keeping a busy schedule in Portland, Greg has had the pleasure of performing with notable musicians such as John Handy, Dick Oatts, Bob Magnusson, Terrell Stafford, Peter Epstein, Alan Jones, Rebecca Kilgore, Gary Hobbs, Ron Steen and John Gross.
